All the following work is based on an Ocotillo tree that exists outside my kitchen window. As I developed ideas around this tree the relationship between the tree and its environment began to change. Then I put parts of them together and began to see how much bigger the visual space began to read. After I made little wire Ocotillos and painted their shadows the space got larger and also the proportions changed. Little became big, and bigger. Now I am thinking about something you said (more or less), "If he had wanted to have his exhibition space totally consumed by his images why didn't he paint on the wall".
Now I want to paint on the wall with watercolor or make an Ocotillo 20' tall, maybe a black Ocotillo with a white shadow.
